Welcome to the College Park Library - a space where readers can explore their curiosities, pursue their interests, and develop a shared community of readers. We are an open-access library, meaning our students have resources at their fingertips whenever they need them.
Library staff work with students and teachers to celebrate reading. Classes come to the library to hear books read aloud, select books for independent reading, and enjoy time talking about favorite authors, characters, and topics. Connections are made with the wider reading world through partnerships with the public library, the Young Hoosier Book Award program, author visits, and the Break to Read bonus check-out (over winter break). In addition to fostering independent reading, the library is the hub of research activity using print and digital resources during the inquiry projects embedded in the core curriculum. Classroom teachers and the librarian work together to plan ways to integrate digital literacy and research skills into the curricular units.
